Sverdrup Steel is proud to be a part of the VEGA project and support the student organization, Revolve, with its impressive achievements. We are thrilled to see the fantastic progress and success you have achieved so far. It is inspiring to witness your dedication and passion for motorsport.
We are pleased to have supplied round bars in Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) for this project. Titanium Grade 5 is renowned for its exceptional strength, lightweight properties, and corrosion resistance. This alloy, composed of 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium, is widely used in aerospace, marine, and medical industries due to its high strength-to-weight ratio and ability to perform in extreme temperatures.
In motorsport, Titanium is used extensively due to its unique properties. Here are some common applications:
• Exhaust Systems: Titanium’s lightweight and high-temperature resistance make it ideal for exhaust systems, enhancing vehicle performance and sound quality.
• Engine Components: Titanium is used in engine valves and connecting rods, contributing to reduced weight and increased efficiency.
• Chassis and Suspension: The strength and durability of Titanium improve the structural integrity and handling of the vehicle.
• Fasteners and Bolts: Titanium fasteners are used for their strength and corrosion resistance, ensuring reliability in critical areas.
• Brake Components: Titanium is used in brake calipers and other components to reduce weight and improve performance.
We look forward to following the VEGA team throughout the summer and cheering you on to even more records and triumphs 🏁
Good luck moving forward, and we are excited to see what the future holds for VEGA 🚗💨
