Thanks to the responsible use of natural resources, Scandinavia has developed strong and stable societies with a high level of trust, strong welfare systems and meaningful employment.

Today, I see that we operate across several markets where these same principles increasingly shape expectations – not only in terms of environmental impact, but also when it comes to safe working conditions, fair treatment and the well-being of people.
Since the 1990s, climate change has become a key focus, with growing emphasis on reducing emissions and environmental impact. At the same time, I find it important to note that progress is possible. Challenges such as ozone depletion and acid rain have shown that through
collaboration and technological development, real change can be achieved.
At Sverdrup Steel, we recognize today’s environmental challenges related to pollution and greenhouse gas emissions. We work systematically to manage and reduce our impact and improve the society, guided by international standards, scientific methods, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This includes continuous efforts to e.g. optimize transport and logistics, improve material efficiency, as well as emphasize on secure and responsible working conditions across our operations and our supply chain. It is important for us to collaborate with partners who share our commitment to responsible, transparent and sustainable practices.
No single company can solve these challenges alone, but every company can make a difference.
I believe that progress comes from a willingness to improve, to invest, and to take responsibility of what is within its reach.
At Sverdrup Steel, we are committed to play our part and recognize that real value is created when sustainability is put into action in a responsible way, step by step.
