We prioritize waste management and source separation

We prioritize waste management and source separation at all locations. Here is how we do it.

Steel scrap

– We recycle 100 % of our metal scrap and steel chips at all locations. The material is sorted in containers by alloy and collected by Stena Recycling, says Iselin Ueland, our Warehouse Manager in Stavanger. – This process ensures that the metal can be reused infinitely.

– Collaborating with skilled and innovative partners is vital for our whole business, also when it comes to taking care of our waste. Luckily, our steel waste can be recycled if handled correctly, says Gunn Holm-Jensen, HSEQ and Sustainability Manager.

We have always prioritized waste management and source separation in Sverdrup Steel. As a part of our environmental policy, we actively work towards two of the UN’s SDGs concerning sustainable consumption patterns.

SDG 12’s focus is to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns.

SDG 17’s focus is to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development.

This process ensures that the metal can be reused infinitely.
