Hugin A and Frøy is a part of the Yggdrasil area, a major offshore oil development project in the North Sea, Norway. The North Sea is known for its unpredictable and severe weather conditions and corrosive environment. These conditions require highly durable and robust materials.
We delivered over 80 tonnes of plates in EN 1.4462 / Duplex UNS S31803 to our good customer, commissioned to build the tanks. The material formed ten tanks, 6 meters high and 2.4 meters in diameter.
EN 1.4462 / Duplex UNS S31803 is corrosion-resistant, entirely maintenance-free, and robust. The steel thus creates solid and sustainable tanks that last for decades.
